Cromptons is one of the longest-established law firms in Fiji, having
been established early last century and has been continuously in practice
since that time.

Legal
Practice in Fiji
Fiji follows a common law system with procedural rules based on the English
Supreme Court Practice. The Judiciary is divided into the Court of Appeal,
High Court (Civil and Criminal Divisions) and Magistrates' Court. The
High Court sits in the three major centres, Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.

Staff
Peter I Knight LLB (Sheffield)
Admitted in England and Fiji Peter has practised in Fiji since 1972 specialising
in commercial law, civil litigation and conveyancing. He is a long-time
member of the Fiji Law Society Council and the Society's immediate past
President. He has acted for many of the major corporations in Fiji
Paul McDonnell LLB (Auckland)
Admitted in New Zealand, Fiji and Cook Islands Paul has had extensive
experience in New Zealand, Cook Islands and Fiji with an emphasis on Maritime
and Aviation Law, Civil Litigation and Trust and Company work. Paul commenced
practice in Fiji in 1990.
Mohini D Prasad LLB (Queensland)
Admitted in Fiji A graduate of Queensland University of Technology, Mohini
joined Cromptons in December 2000 and works in the areas of civil litigation
with a particular interest in Alternative/Assisted Dispute Resolution.
Mohini is currently studying at the University of the South Pacific (USP)
Suva for an LLM in Advanced Pacific Legal Studies and Law of the Sea,
Advanced Pacific Commercial Transaction and writing a dissertation titled
"An Analysis of Personal Injury and Death Claims in Fiji".
